Bio
Villa-Lobos was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He learned music as a child by watching performers come to his father's home. He studied the indigenous cultures of Brazil and their influence is found in his composing. He was skilled in multiple instruments and is considered the best-known South American composer of all time.
