Henryk Wieniawski (1835-1880)


Bio

Wieniawski was born in Lublin, Poland. He was a prodigy violinist and entered the Paris Conservatoire at age 8. He began touring at age 12 and did tours of Europe, Russia, and the United States. He also taught violin, replacing virtuoso Henri Vieuxtemps at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. He is considered one of the greatest violin players ever.
