Thomas Weelkes (1576-1623)


Bio

Thomas Weelkes was born in West Sussex. He studied at New College, Oxford, and held several prominent positions including a possible substitute role in the Chapel Royal.  He produced a number of madrigal and Anglican evensong services. At Charles III's coronation, one of his anthems was played.
