Max Reger (1873-1916)


Bio

Johann Baptist Joseph Maximilian Reger was born in Bavaria. He began his studies with Hugo Riemann and developed as a composer. He was appointed the director at the Leipzig University Church and as a professor at the Royal Conservatory there. He served in Duke Georg II's court but resigned and died suddenly after a series of compositions commemorating the loss in World War I.
