Wallingford Riegger (1885-1961)


Bio

Wallingford Constantine Riegger was born in Albany, Georgia. He studied Cello at the Institute of Musical Art (Juilliard) and the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin. He taught at Drake, Juilliard, and Ithaca College while composing. He composed primarily in a 12-tone style and was influenced by Schoenberg, Cowell, and Ives.
