Alan Rawsthorne (1905-1971)
Bio
Rawsthorne was born in Lancashire. He studied at the Royal Manchester College of Music before going abroad to study in Poland and Germany. He taught briefly in Dartington Hall and spent most of his life as a freelance composer. He had a successful career both in classical composing and film scores.
