Gioachino Rossini (1792-1868)
Bio
Gioachino Antonio Rossini was born in Pesaro and educated in Bologna. He composed 39 operas and was enormously successful in both Venice and Paris. He hosted a salon in Paris at which gathered many notable composers of his time including Liszt, Rubenstein, Verdi, Meyerbeer, and Joachim.
