Elie Siegmeister (1909-1991)
Bio
Elie Siegmeister was born in New York. He studied at Columbia University and then Juilliard before completing his studies with Nadia Boulanger. He served on the board of ASCAP and was the composer-in-residence at Hofstra for many years. He also composed under the pseudonym L.E. Swift.
